Trailwalker 2026
Taking place from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September 2026, Trailwalker is an endurance challenge like no other, welcoming civilian, military and corporate teams alike to an unparalleled experience that supports a fantastic cause.
The ultimate team endurance event
With the Gurkhas by your side, Trailwalker is a unique opportunity to put mind, body, and camaraderie to the test. Following the historic paths of the South Downs Way, you’ll trek or run 100km through some of the most beautiful countryside in England.
Trailwalker Relay
NEW for 2026 – introducing the Trailwalker Relay! Divide and conquer the 100km route across the South Downs between a team of 6-12 participants.
Take part
Assemble a team of four participants and two support crew, or more if you are forming a relay team. Whether you register with friends, family, or colleagues, make 2026 the year you become Trailwalker strong! The event takes place across a weekend from 11 to 13 September 2026. Registration and camping are based at Queen Elizabeth Country Park with the route finishing at Brighton Racecourse. The course follows historic paths over rolling chalk hills and includes sea views along parts of the South Downs Way. Along the route there are nine manned checkpoints with water supplies and parking for support crews. The event package includes a printed route guide, a bespoke t-shirt, a medal, four hot meals including a Nepalese Gurkha curry at the finish, free camping at the start and finish, toilets across the course and showers at the finish. The route is fully signed and staffed by volunteers and serving members of the Brigade of Gurkhas.
Fundraising
Teams are encouraged to fundraise for the Gurkha Welfare Trust, which provides financial and medical aid and community support in Nepal. Organisers suggest a minimum fundraising target of £300 per participant or £1,200 per standard team.
Volunteer
If you’re not ready to take on the 100km of Trailwalker but still want to be involved, why not volunteer? Soak up the incredible atmosphere and spend time with serving members of the Brigade of Gurkhas. Join us for the whole weekend, or help out for a few hours at a location that suits you!
An event like no other
The spirit of teamwork is at the heart of Trailwalker. The event originated as a Gurkha Training Exercise, and to this day, military teams take part alongside civilians. Serving members of the Gurkha Brigade are there to cheer you on at each Checkpoint, making it a truly unique challenge.
