Tomahawk Pow Wow Days 5K/10K/Fun Run
Join us for the 49th annual Pow Wow Days 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Runs, held in conjunction with the annual 4th of July Lion's Day Festivities in Tomahawk. All races start from Veterans Memorial Park on the Wisconsin River.
Race Routes and Details
The 10K offers a scenic route along the river towards Kings Hill and the historic Kings Dam. The 5K is a mostly flat looped course that follows the 10K route for approximately 2400 meters before cutting across the Tomahawk High School property. The 1-Mile Fun Run is also a looped course suitable for all ages, with awards for participants 12 and under.
Start Times and Registration
5K/10K races start at 8:30 AM sharp. The 1-Mile Fun Run begins around 9:30 AM, after most 5K participants have finished.
Pre-registration bib and t-shirt pick-up starts at 7:00 AM under the gazebo in the park. Pre-registration ends at Noon on Thursday, July 3rd. Race day registration stations close at 8:15 AM for the 5K & 10K and 9:15 AM for the 1-Mile Fun Run. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before June 12th, 2026.
Awards and Contests
A "Most Patriotic" costume contest with prizes for the top three outfits will be held. The top one-hundred 10K finishers receive a finisher's medal. Medals for the top three finishers in each age group for the 5K and 1-mile Fun Run will be available at the awards table under the gazebo. 10K award winners will receive their award in the finish chute.
Additional Information
Refreshments will be provided in the finishing corral. In case of inclement weather, the race may be postponed to the next day. Please check your email and listen to local radio station WJJQ 92.5 for updates.
