The Wizard 5
The Wizard 5 is a 5 mile multi-terrain race around the footpaths and quiet lanes of Alderley Edge, Nether Alderley and Hare Hill. The route follows its traditional line through woodland on The Edge, out to Hare Hill via Adders Moss and back across fields via Daniel Hill.
The course is licensed by England Athletics and held under UK Athletics rules, and in accordance with those rules the course is unsuitable for the use of headphones or buggies.
The event is organised by Wilmslow Running Club and all race proceeds are donated to charity. There is a team competition: each team comprises four runners, of whom two must be female and two must be male, one must be aged 35 or under and one must be aged 60 or over. Entry is open to ages 18 to 89 on the event date.
Parking at the National Trust car park on Macclesfield Road is very limited; car sharing or arriving by train, bicycle or on foot from Alderley Edge station is advised. Race numbers are collected at Race HQ in front of The Wizard Tea Rooms. Course information, a runners guide, a course map and a GPX file are provided for entrants. Refund Policy
No deferrals. Transfers are permitted online only using Nifty Entries up to 24 hours before the race cost £3. In the case that the race is full then you can cancel your place up to 7 days before the race and receive an 80% refund.
