The Wensum Way Trail
The Wensum Way Trail is a trail running event at Billingford Lakes, North Elmham Road, NR20 4RG, that follows sections of the Wensum Way within the park. The course is an out-and-back route measuring 5.3 km per lap and uses a mix of tarmac paths, grasslands, and rugged trails. Timed formats are offered, with four-hour and six-hour options.
An aid station will be located at base camp for food and water refills. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own cups or bottles for refilling at the aid station. Parking is included with race entry. After finishing, participants receive a bespoke event medal and a complimentary coffee and cake are provided at the finish area. A Lucky Dip medal option may be available for some distances.
Lap structure for longer distances:
- 5.3 km out-and-back lap.
- Heavy half marathon standard is 5 laps, option to increase to 6 or 7.
- Ultra marathon standard is 9 laps, option to increase up to 12 according to available time.

Event Details
With start times at 9AM (6-hour event) and 11AM (4-hour event), you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the stunning route, push your limits, and, of course, earn your race bling! Once you cross the finish line, reward yourself with a complimentary coffee and cake while soaking in the atmosphere.
An aid station will be conveniently located at base camp, so there's no need to carry excess food or water—just focus on your run and enjoy the journey!

A heavy half marathon as standard will be 5 laps (but there is the option to change this on the day to 6 or 7). An ultra marathon as standard will be 9 laps (but there is the option to increase this, according to time available e.g. upto 12 laps)
