The Valley Race – 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon

High Tide Runs presents The Valley Race, an event celebrating community and running in the 818 area.
Race Details
Location: Woodley Park, 6076 Woodley Ave, Encino, CA 91316
Parking: Free parking in the lot; more is available on Woodley Ave
Event Schedule
- 6:20am – Bib pick-up opens
- 7:00am – Half marathon & 10k start
- 7:30am – 5k start
- 7:35am – Registration & start line close
- 10:20am – Course closes (3 hours, 20 minutes for the Half)
An early start of 6:30am may be pre-arranged for half marathoners by emailing [email protected]. Early starters are not eligible for awards.
Courses
- 5k route: Runners do one loop.
- 10k route: Runners do one loop.
- Half Marathon: Route is the 10k route PLUS an added out and back to make it the full distance. Runners do two laps.
The race routes go across the grass, under the road through a tunnel, and enter the park. The 5k loops the lake and returns. The 10k and half head to the other side of the park, going under the bridge, and then journey back along a different path. Courses are on open paths; please be considerate of other park users.
On-Course Support
Multiple water stations are located along the routes. The finish line will also have an aid station stocked with water, electrolytes, and other snacks. First aid kits are at each station, and all High Tides Crew Members have received CPR training. Turns are clearly marked with chalk and runner turn signs.
Final Details
- Bib: Please wear your race bib on the front of your shirt.
- Gear Check: You may leave personal items with staff at the registration tent. Please bring your own bag.
- Awards: 1st place medals are given to the overall 1st male and female in each distance.
- Results & Photos: Race results and photos will be sent the day after the race and earlier on Instagram. Race photos are free!
