The MTC Cotswold Ultra
The MTC Cotswold Ultra is a challenging 57-mile point-to-point ultramarathon that follows the Thames Path. The route begins in Kemble and concludes at Travelodge Oxford Abingdon Road, passing through scenic locations such as Somerford Keynes, Cricklade, Castle Eaton, Blackford Farm, and Lechlade.
All participants who complete the race will receive a bespoke Cotswold Ultra medal and a MTC head visor at the start. Additionally, the first male and female finishers will be awarded bespoke trophies, with the head sponsor providing a pair of Mount to Coast R1 shoes to each winner.
The event features four checkpoints offering water and basic nutrition, including items like malt loaf, cake, sandwiches, nuts, dried fruit, sweets, squash, cola, and water. The organizers aim to accommodate gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian diets, but participants with other dietary needs should bring their own food. Drop bags can be left at checkpoint stations.
Mandatory kit for competitors includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, Ordnance Survey Map 150 or downloaded maps, a compass or GPS, a whistle, a mobile phone, and a basic first aid kit. Entrants must be 20 years or older. Competitors are responsible for their own transport to the start and from the finish. A minimum average pace of 4.0 miles per hour must be maintained to avoid removal from the event.
