Event Overview
Honor ALL of our Veterans with this annual 5K, 10K, and Kid’s Honor Runs for all ages at The Dunedin Veterans Day Runs on Sunday, November 8, 2026. This event celebrates and runs with patriotic participants in Dunedin, Florida, aiming to be the best Veterans Day 5K, 10K, and kids HONOR runs in Florida. We celebrate veterans from across the world who have served and are still serving the US military. Participants are encouraged to bring a post-it or share the name and service of those they wish to honor.
Race Details
- Location: The race begins and ends across from downtown near the VFW at the Dunedin Hale Center, 330 Douglas Avenue, Dunedin, FL 34698, directly across the street from Dunedin Stadium.
- Kids Dash: At 8:10 a.m., race management will call all children and parents out to the Pinellas Trail for a kid's dash. Children are separated by size, and parents are welcome to run with their kids. This run is stroller-friendly.
- 10K Run: The 10K is a 2-loop course of the 5K route, set for a perfect 10K distance, popular for runners training for larger or more competitive races.
- 5K Run/Walk: The 5K run/walk will begin on the fully paved Pinellas Trail at 8:30 a.m., two minutes after the 10K start.
- Course: The Pinellas Trail is fully paved and stroller-friendly, with Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies manning intersections along the out-and-back route heading north from the Hale Center.
Awards & Amenities
- All registrants will receive a beautiful and substantial American-themed finisher's medal.
- Top finisher’s framed awards are given to the first 15 males and first 15 females to finish the 5K.
- All 5K and 10K runners will receive a RUN FLORIDA promotional shirt at check-in. There is no shirt for youth distances.
- Race results will be available later on race afternoon on www.727CanRace.com. Times are gathered using an electronic race splitter timing system, though it is advertised as a non-competitive running event.
Logistics
- An email will be sent to all registrants the day prior to the event by 4 p.m. with bib number assignment, parking, and arrival instructions.
- Parking is free at the Hale Center and the Dunedin Library.
- This is a co-sponsored event with the City of Dunedin.
