The Big Mile
The Big Mile is a free, family-friendly mass participation event held on the same finishing stretch as The Big Half by the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday 6 September 2026 and is sold out.
The course starts on Creek Road and finishes next to the Cutty Sark. The terrain is road - described as fast and flat. The event provides timed results and event photography. Participants may receive a finisher’s medal as an optional item, and there is an option to plant a tree with Trees Not Tees. Buxton Natural Mineral Water is provided.
On-site facilities include toilets with accessible options, a Free Festival Area in Greenwich Park for celebrating with family and friends, a Sensory Calm Space, a Parent and Child Space for breastfeeding, pumping and entertaining young children, and a Multi Faith Prayer Space.
The Big Mile is presented as suitable for first-time runners and families with children and aims to encourage people to be more active. The event is organised as a mass participation community event linked to The Big Half and uses part of the same finish area in Greenwich.
