Aloha, Runners! Welcome to The Big Kahuna bringing tropical vibes, bright colors, and summer energy to the race course this June! Hosted by Bigfoot Running Company, this family-friendly morning race blends serious miles with laid-back luau fun. Whether you’re cruising the 5K or chasing waves in the 10K, you’ll finish feeling like the biggest Kahuna on the island. This isn’t just a run — it’s a tropical party on the move, complete with island-inspired energy, music at the finish line, and all the fun you expect from a Bigfoot event.

Race Distances
- Kids Dash - (10 & Under): A short, fun dash designed just for kids. Includes a race tee, special Kids Dash medal, and tropical treat. Not timed — just smiles, cheers, and island fun.
- 1 Mile Run: Perfect for families, beginners, walkers, and casual runners. Includes a race tee, finisher medal, and tropical treat. Not chip-timed.
- 5K (3.11 miles) – “The Island Dash”: Perfect for runners, joggers, and walkers looking for a fun summer race. Chip-timed with awards and post-race celebration. Includes a race tee, finisher medal, and tropical treat ticket. Awards: 1st Overall M/F – Bigfoot Trophy, 1st Masters (40+) – Recognition pin, Standard age-group awards.
- 10K (6.22 miles) – “The Big Kahuna Challenge”: More miles, more bragging rights, more island glory! Chip-timed with awards and full finish-line festivities. Includes a race tee, finisher medal, and tropical treat ticket. Awards: 1st Overall M/F – Bigfoot Trophy, 1st Masters (40+) – Recognition pin, Standard age-group awards.

Age Groups: 10 & under, 11–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70+. Awards: Gold – 1st | Silver – 2nd | Bronze – 3rd

Event Schedule
- 5:30–6:40 AM — Packet Pickup ends 20 minutes before the race!
- 6:55 AM — Kids Dash Start
- 7:00 AM — National Anthem & Race Start
Finish-line celebrations and awards follow the race.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteer Then Run (5K Only): Includes custom chip-timed bib, super-soft race tee, finisher medal, and ability to run the 5K after helping. Limited to the first 10 sign-ups. Available for the 5K distance only.
Full Race Volunteer (Not Running): Receive Bigfoot race shirt, VIP race access, and your choice of a FREE future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card.

- Water Station: Chill, social, great vantage point.
- Course Monitors: Fun and action-packed.
- Finish Line Helper: Easy, exciting, and rewarding.
- Turtle / Sweeper: Slightly physically challenging — longest distance covered but inspiring!
- Packet Pickup / Results: Busy pre-race, chill and fun after.
- Floater: Extremely easy and puts you right in the action.
- Lead Bike: Fun, great exercise, and finished early!
- Bigfoot Mascot: The coolest volunteer role — 10/10 fun.
All volunteers arrive 1.5 hours before race start and check in at the Registration Tent.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Shirt guarantee: Register at least 10 days before race day.
- Packet Pickup: Always open 1.5 hours before race start.
- Course Terrain: Expect a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and some unavoidable dirt paths.
- Public Spaces: Events take place in parks and greenbelts — please be mindful of dog walkers, cyclists, and picnickers.
