8th Annual Spring Training 5K & 1K Fun Run
Honoring America’s 250th Anniversary + The Legacy of America’s Favorite Pastime
Kick off Spring Training 2026 with a race that honors the legacy of our nation and the sport that has shaped generations. Join the City of Surprise and Surprise Stadium for the 8th Annual Spring Training 5K & 1K Fun Run, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and the enduring tradition of baseball. Runners will move through the spring training home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals, taking in the energy and character that come with a true ballpark setting. This year’s event puts a spotlight on the role baseball has played in shaping our community and the legacy we continue to grow here in Surprise.
All participants will receive a Spring Training Race t-shirt, a finisher's medal and a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE lawn seat voucher (available at Packet Pick-Up) to any remaining 2026 Spring Training game at Surprise Stadium.
Registration fees
Prices are inclusive of mandatory charges, items, and fees
- 5K Run/Walk: $33.49 ($30 + processing fee)
- 1K Fun Run: $17.43 ($15 + processing fee)
- Virtual Run: $33.49 ($30 + processing fee)
Virtual Race: Can be run at any location. All virtual race participants will receive a custom event finisher's medal and custom event dri-fit tech t-shirt. Virtual packets will be mailed the week following the event. Virtual Registrations are restricted to US addresses only.
All Participants Receive:

- Custom Event Dri-Fit Tech T-Shirt (Option to select 'No Shirt' and receive $5 off)
- BOGO Free lawn seat voucher to any remaining 2026 Spring Training game at Surprise Stadium.
Awards:
Male and Female Age Group Awards for Top Three in all Age Groups for the 5K distance (Race Day Participants only). Age groups range from 8 & Under to 80 & Over.
Pre- and Post-Race snacks
Granola bars, fruit, water, Gatorade, etc.

Race Day Information:
Race Day Registration will be available beginning at 6:00pm at Surprise Stadium. We accept cash, and credit cards on race day.
- 5K: $40
- 1K Fun Run: $20
Wheelchairs, strollers & wagons are welcome. No roller blades/skates, skateboards or motorized devices. Walkers are welcome! No pets. This event will take place rain or shine. No refunds due to weather.
Packet Pick-up Opportunities:
- Thursday, March 5th, 2026: 5-7pm at Surprise Stadium (15930 N Bullard Avenue, Surprise, Arizona 85374).
- Race Day (Friday, March 6, 2026): Starting at 6pm at Surprise Stadium.
