Philosophy
Long-standing partners, Volksbank eG – Die Gestalterbank and the Caritasverband für den Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis e. V., collaborate to create opportunities for social engagement. The annual Stadtlauf in Villingen is a joint project that offers a fun way for many people to participate while promoting health.
Running to Help
Under the motto "LAUFEND MITHELFEN" (Running to Help), participants can contribute to their own health and the common good. The number of laps completed determines the donation amount from Volksbank eG to the Caritasverband.
For each lap run, Volksbank eG – Die Gestalterbank donates one euro to Caritas. The donation supports social projects run by the Caritasverband für den Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis e.V.
Donation Goal 2026
The Caritasverband is planning the urgently needed roofing of the terrace at the St. Jakobus-Haus. This facility provides living and care for 24 adults with mental illnesses. The terrace, offering a view of nature, can be used year-round with the new roofing, providing essential sun protection for residents who may have increased sun sensitivity due to psychotropic medication.
Patronage
The Stadtlauf in Villingen is under the patronage of Jürgen Roth, Mayor of the City of Villingen-Schwenningen.

I am very pleased to take over the patronage for our city run 'laufend-mithelfen' again this year and to warmly invite you on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Together with the Caritasverband Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis and the Volksbank eG – Die Gestalterbank, a day awaits us that is guaranteed to move more than just our legs. For two decades, the Stadtlauf has shown what defines our city: cohesion, joy of movement, and the willingness to do good together. Under the motto 'laufend-mithelfen', numerous social projects have been supported - from offers for people with disabilities to care and senior work. This is solidarity in action, lap after lap. This year, it's again: Every lap counts. The Volksbank donates one euro per lap to Caritas - and those who complete the 'Badische Meile' with four laps even trigger a bonus. In 2025, this resulted in 15,328 laps and an impressive 18,150 euros. The result: a new bus for the day care of the Caritasverband. A true community effort that shows how much power can be in a running stride. And now? Now we celebrate 20 years of Stadtlauf - and that is the perfect opportunity to add something together. Whether you jog leisurely, start ambitiously, or simply say 'I'm doing it for the good feeling' - you all contribute to making another heartfelt project possible.
