St David's Day Run - Cardiff
Celebrate St David’s Day with a run in Bute Park, Cardiff, on March 6, 2027. Choose from a 5k, 10k, or Half Marathon, or participate in our mini run designed for children. Dress in celebration of Wales and enjoy the morning with family, friends, or colleagues while being part of this fantastic event.
Run through the stunning Bute Park, challenge yourself, and have fun with friends, family, and perhaps even a daffodil, leek, or dragon!
We are proud to partner with two wonderful Welsh charities: Cancer Research Wales and Kidney Wales. A portion of every entry fee will be donated to each charity, and we encourage you to run in support of them to make a difference across Wales.

Every entrant receives full race chip timing, a superb high-quality medal, drinks and refreshments on the day, and discount offers from The Fix and our partners!
Course Details
The 5k is one lap, the 10k is two laps, and the Half Marathon is just over four laps. All runners will receive split times for each lap.
The course is run on park paths and is recommended for road running shoes. It is flat, buggy-friendly, and wheelchair accessible. The course layout may be altered up to event day if necessary.
Event Day Information
Arrival and Registration:
- Half Marathon starts at 9:00 am.
- 5k and 10k runs start at 10:00 am.
- Kids race starts at 11:30 am.
- Registration opens at 8:00 am and closes at 8:55 am for the Half Marathon, and 9:55 am for the 5k and 10k. Kids can be registered up until 11:20 am. The event hub is on Coopers Field.
- Race packs will be collected at registration on the day of the event.
- Chip on Bib race numbers will be used and must be displayed on your outer garment for visibility and timing accuracy.
Parking: Car parking is available in and around the park. Some may be pay and display. Arrive early as parking may fill up quickly.
Toilets: Situated at Coopers Field in Bute Park.
Bag Storage: Located next to the registration tents. Space is limited, so please travel as lightly as possible.
Run Timings: Runs will kick off as scheduled above. Marshals will be positioned around the course to support and encourage you. Please be mindful of public land and local residents; always stay on the left unless otherwise guided.
