Sri Chinmoy 5K Races in Battersea Park
The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team stages a series of 5K races in Battersea Park on a traffic-free, two lap course that runs on park avenues. The course is UK Athletics certified and manually timed to UKA standards. The organiser has run races in London since 1981.
Race headquarters is on Carriage Drive East between the Boating Lake and the Millennium Arena running track, about 30 metres from Pear Tree Cafe. The start line is approximately 300 metres from the Race HQ. Race numbers are posted to entrants the week before the race.
All entrants must register online. Registration closes three days before the race or when a race is full. A baggage drop area is provided at Race HQ; organisers will monitor it but valuables are left at the entrant’s own risk. Baggage tags are sent with race numbers.
Minimum age for entry is 12 years. Facilities include public toilets in the park, free parking inside Rosary Gate or Chelsea Gate car parks after 5pm, and showers and changing rooms at the Millennium Arena for a £3 charge.
Entry fees are listed from £8 to £10. The event records list fastest times by age and gender, for example 14:12 for men under 50 and 16:00 for women under 50. The organisers state they welcome entrants who identify as Female, Male or Non Binary while recording Male and Female categories for ranking in line with IAAF rules.
