Something Wild Festival
Something Wild Festival is a multi-discipline outdoor event at a farm field site overlooking Hope Cove, Kingsbridge, Devon. The site sits beside the sea and serves as the fulcrum for routes that use sections of the South West Coast Path and take in the Avon and Salcombe estuaries. The festival includes a separate camp village and festival village, camping for up to 100 tents, parking for vehicles and camper vans, extra compost toilet facilities and warm showers.
The programme combines trail running, swim runs and sea swims with family-focused activities and evening entertainment. A communal meal and live music feature on some evenings, and a cafe and bar will sell locally brewed beer, non-alcoholic drinks, vodka, gin and cocktails. Speakers, yoga, massage and movement sessions are scheduled alongside children’s activities and a film night.
Forest school runs morning and afternoon sessions on Saturday and Sunday with qualified leaders; forest school tickets are available separately or as part of weekend tickets that include camping and parking.
The festival also stages sea swims and Rocky Horror SwimRun events in solo and pairs categories with multiple distance options.

The Festival site
The farmer has kindly given access to his fields, overlooking the idyllic Hope Cove, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better location to wake up to in the southwest. close to ideal swimming spots in Hope Cove, East Soar and Bantham Bay.
This year, we will have a camp village and festival village, which will be clearly separated, to allow flow and easy access.
The campsite is suitable for up to 100 tents with parking and suitable for camper vans and serving as the fulcrum for all our trail events, which is ideal for spectators.
We’ll be offering extra compost toilet facilities and warm showers, as well as two lovely venues for our speaker’s and music evening.
Unique South West Coast Path Trails
We have lined up some of the best coast routes on the South West Coast path for our night run, 5k, 10k or half marathon, marathon and Summit Wild Ultra as well as kid’s races.
We will kick off the festival with a family-friendly guided run on Friday before the swim run and Hard Rock Coast swim, as well as 10k and 5k events on Saturday and the half marathon, marathon and ultra on Sunday.
On Friday and Saturday evening, there will be a fire in the festival field with live music and a communal meal option on Friday and Sunday, alongside our caterers.
Forest School
You can drop your kids at forest school from 10am to 12 and 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, with our experienced and qualified forest school leaders, while taking part in an event, or yoga.
To join the forest school, you can buy tickets separately or book weekender tickets (camping and parking).
Entertainment
There’ll be children’s entertainments and the cafe and bar open on Friday evening to kick start the weekend. On Saturday there’s a speaker’s afternoon, yoga, massage, movement sessions, forest school and live music.
Sea Swim
This starts at 12.30pm at the far end of South Milton Sands at the foot of the steps at Thurlestone car park. Swimmers will meet in the car park from 12.00pm and register.
Swim Runs
13.30pm: Start of Rocky Horror Swim Run LONG (11 miles- 3X5k loops, 3X500m swim) Medium (7 miles-2X5k loops, 2X500m swim) and SHORT (3.5miles1X5k loop, 1X500m swim): (at Festival site in Hope Cove)
Other stuff
Kids races, local food, a drinks bar and a speaker’s evening, kid's activities/film night, outdoor yoga, functional movement sessions and a wild swim.
