S'more Fun Trail Run

This fun trail run includes a Mini Marshmallow 1-mile kids run age 11 & under, 5K run & walk and 10K trail and a half marathon run along the park's scenic trails. There will be chip-timing for the 5K run, 10K run & Half Marathon race with the help of Tortoise and Hare Race Management timing company. The Half Marathon event will have a cut-off time of 3:30 hours for timing purpose. The event staff and volunteers will still be there for you from start to finish, but timing will not be provided if you finish after 3:30 hours. The goal of this event is to introduce people to the state park and to raise funds to support ongoing and future Friends' projects at the park. You will run along scenic Mirror Lake, near sandstone cliffs, up and down steep hills (did we mention the hills?) and to the finish line where you can enjoy post-race food and beverages including s'mores around a campfire, making for a truly unique running experience!
The Friends of Mirror Lake State Park is a non-profit that is organized for the charitable and educational purpose of supporting and assisting Mirror Lake State Park. Funds raised during the fun run will stay at Mirror Lake State Park and help with these projects.
Registration will be open on April 1 until September 27, 2026 or until the cap of 450 participants is reached. Participants who register after August 31 or same day register will not be guaranteed a race shirt. Packet pick-up will be held on Run Day from 7:30am - 9:00am at Mirror Lake State Park Beach Area. Sorry, No Refunds will be given. Cupless Race- Starting in 2025 we will no longer supply disposable cups. Our goal, as with many trail races, is to do what we can to limit the waste we create from our event. We will have plenty of liquids at our age stations as always. So please be sure to bring your own water carrying device. We will have a limited number of reusable and collapsible cups for sale.
Goodies - T-shirts must be picked up day of the event. All event participants will also get post-race food and beverages including s'mores by a campfire.
Awards - Top overall male and female 5K, 10K and Half Marathon runners will receive a medal for 1st through 3rd place, along with 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place finishers in each age division. All 1/2 Marathon runners that complete the course will receive a participation medal. All participants of the Mini Marshmallow 1-mile run will receive a participant medal upon completion of the race along with 1st through 3rd place finisher receiving medals. New as of 2024: As an incentive to our younger runners, we will supply participation awards to all runners ages 11 and under for completing the 5K or 10K race.
Pets - For safety reasons, dogs will not be allowed at the event.
Park Stickers and Parking - Parked vehicles require a Wisconsin State Park admission sticker. Stickers can be purchased upon entry on Saturday or online at YourPassNow.com. Daily passes for vehicles with Wisconsin plates is $13/day or 12-month passes are $28. Out-of-State rate are $16/day or $50/12-month pass. Parking will be available within the park at specific locations. On Run Day, please follow the directional signs and look for our parking attendants to help get you to available parking. Beach parking fills fast. You may have to park and walk a bit. Please allow time to walk up to 1/2 mile from parking areas to the starting line as races will start on time. There will be directional signs. A drop bag area will be available at the start/finish area. Parking on the grass and along the shoulders of the road is not permitted.
