Smiles for Miles Labor Day 10K, 5K, and Fun Run
The Shylee Smiles Foundation is proud to present the 2nd Annual Smiles for Miles Charity 10K, 5K and Fun Run to raise funding and awareness for families of the Shoals area battling cancer. We look forward to seeing you on race day!
Course Brand NEW certified 10K and 5K courses welcome you to come test your spirit for State Records and Personnel Bests.
Amenities, Features, and Highlights
- The first 50 10K/5K runners registered will receive a FREE race shirt.
- 10K/5K Medals and Prizes: Overall Male and Female (1st), Overall Male and Female Masters (40+)(1st), Overall Male and Female GrandMasters (60+)(1st), 1st, 2nd, 3rd Age Group Awards - (12U, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
- Aid Stations: Three aid and recovery stations. One at the START/FINISH line (hydration, first aid, snacks, electrolytes) and two on the course (water and first aid).
Race Day Schedule
- Packet Pick-up and In-person Registration: 6:00-6:45 AM
- Announcements and 10K call to start: 7:00 AM
- 5K Race Start: 7:05 AM
- Fun Run Start: 8:00 AM
- Awards: 8:30 AM

Shylee Smiles is a non-profit organization founded to honor the legacy of Shylee Bevis. Our mission is to advocate, educate, and provide opportunities for families with loved ones fighting cancer.
Event Details
When: Labor Day - Monday, September 7th, 2026 - 7:00 am CT (10K RACE START)
Where: St. Florian Park in Florence, Alabama
Packet Pickup: Race day morning starting at 6:00 AM.
T-shirts: First 50 10K/5K registered runners receive a shirt; others available for purchase.
Medals & Prizes: Awarded for 10K and 5K for top overall, Masters, GrandMasters, and age group finishers.
Age Groups: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Walking: Walkers are welcome, recommended to use the 5K course.
Group Bib Pickup: Possible with full name of participants.
Parking: FREE nearby parking available.
Pets: Well-socialized and leashed dogs are welcome at the back of the pack.
Strollers: Strollers are welcome at the back of the pack. Competitive runners should inform race day staff.
Allowed on Course: Runners, joggers, walkers, baby strollers/joggers, restrained pets, and wheelchairs.
Timed & Certified Courses: Yes, RFID Chip Timed using USATF Certified Courses (#TBA).
Hills: Some small-medium hills on the course (<12% grade).
Proceeds: Benefit the Shylee Smiles Foundation and their supported causes.
Virtual Participation: Donation option available through registration or a dedicated donation link.
