Simmer Dim Half Marathon
The Simmer Dim Half Marathon, organised by Shetland AAC, takes place on Sunday 21 June 2026. The route is an accurately measured 13.1 miles, made up mainly of roads and finishing on an athletics track. The event is listed as a Scottish Athletics licence pending competition and is run under UK athletics rules.
Runners must be at least 17 years old on race day. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs, and running with buggies or pets is not permitted. Headphones are not allowed except for bone conducting models approved under UK athletics rules; anyone wearing in ear headphones will be disqualified.
A strict overall cut off time of three hours applies. Competitors must reach Gulberwick within 2 hours 15 minutes to remain in the race. Race numbers are not transferable and refunds are not offered unless the event is cancelled. Vests are included in the entry fee; entrants can decline the vest at entry for a discount of five pounds. Entries close on Sunday 10 May 2026 and are accepted online.
