Shepherds Skyline Fell Race
The Shepherds Skyline Fell Race is scheduled for 7 November 2026 near Todmorden. It is a category BS fell race of approximately 10 km with about 350 m of ascent. The course is described as fast and muddy, with a steep descent off Stoodley Pike immediately followed by a stiff climb back up the hill.
Race headquarters is the Shepherds Rest Inn on Lumbutts Road, Todmorden, OL14 6JJ. Early arrivals may use the pub car parks; other vehicles will be directed to park along the road by marshals. Entrants are asked not to park in coned-off gap areas, which act as passing places for larger vehicles on this bus route. Organisers note that car-sharing is encouraged. There will be no junior races this year and the minimum age for competitors is 18. Entry on the day is £5.
All competitors must carry the kit specified by the race organiser to meet FRA minimum requirements. Specified items may include full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle. Waterproof jacket and overpants should meet FRA standards. Kit checks will take place at the start and finish; failing to carry the required kit will result in disqualification and may be reported to the FRA. The organiser states they cannot guarantee that the required kit is sufficient for conditions and advises entrants to assess conditions and carry additional kit as needed.
