Shell Lake Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon
Imagine a triathlon that begins just steps from a sparkling 2,600-acre lake, surrounded by the charm of a small town where life moves at a more peaceful pace. The Shell Lake Lions Triathlon/Duathlon, held annually on the fourth Saturday in July, brings athletes and spectators together for a memorable race through one of Wisconsin’s most scenic communities. With a course that winds along the beautiful countryside, a public beach, lakeside park, and campground, participants enjoy more than just a physical challenge—they experience the warmth and creativity of Shell Lake itself.
The Shell Lake Lions Club hosts two events at 8 AM on Saturday, July 25th, 2026 at the Shell Lake beach. Timing services are provided by Duluth Timing and Events. There are 2 events, the triathlon (a traditional swim/bike/run) and the duathlon ( a run/bike/run event). Both events will run concurrently. Individual or teams may enter either event.
- Triathlon: 1/3 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 3.4 mile run.
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 15 mile bike, 3.4 mile run.
Medals will be given to all participants. JOIN US in Shell Lake for one of the most beautiful race routes in Northern Wisconsin!
