Serpent Trail Ultra Run
About the Run
Starting and finishing in Haslemere, this guided run features some of the best parts of the Serpent Trail and the Sussex Border Path. This run may be hilly, but is still perfect as your first taste of ultra running. The route is taken care of and you will get the chance to learn from an experienced ultra runner, and get any running questions you may have answered.
We will begin our run in Haslemere and head towards Blackdown, pausing for a moment to enjoy the wonderful Temple of the Winds lookout, offering views of the South Downs and beyond. From here we will begin to follow the Serpent Trail before heading south across lush fields and through ancient woodland. We will then pick up the Serpent Trail once again and head west across rare heathland, through stunning woodland and valleys. After a quick refreshment break, we will continue our journey back towards Haslemere, once again across incredible heathland and along a huge variety of trails.

Pace
This is not a race, we’ll run as a group and enjoy the experience together. I advise that you have run at least 22 miles in training before trying this event. We often hike steeper climbs and regroup regularly, but you should be comfortable maintaining an average pace of around 10 min/mile (6:15 min/km) on trails for prolonged periods of time to enjoy this event. Faster runners should expect an easier, more social pace at times.
Kit
A full kit list will be provided.
