11. Sechtemer Burgenlauf on August 30, 2026
The 11th Sechtemer Burgenlauf will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026. This year features a new start and finish location at the Wendelinusschule in Sechtem and a revised course. The event includes the 10km Bornheimer City Championship, with an award ceremony for the city champions.
Races and Start Times:
- 12:30 PM: 350m Bambini Lauf (for children younger than 2020) - Fun run with a medal at the finish. No registration or timing.
- 12:45 PM: 1000m Schülerlauf (for children born 2020-2014) - Awards ceremony for age group winners to follow.
- 1:30 PM: 2.5km Jugendlauf (for participants born 2018-2009) and 5km Walking (for participants born 2018 and older) - Combined start with separate classifications. Awards ceremony after the walkers finish.
- 3:00 PM: 5km Jedermann Lauf (for participants born 2016 and older) - Awards ceremony to follow.
- 4:00 PM: 10km Hauptlauf (for participants born 2013 and older) - Awards for the most participants per team, women/men, age groups, Bornheim City Champions, and team classification.
Entry Fees:
350m Bambini Lauf: Free (no registration, no timing)
1000m Schülerlauf: Free (pre-registration recommended for timing data)
2.5km Jugendlauf: €6 (early bird until 19.07.2026), €7 (until 23.08.2026), €8 (from 24.08.2026)
5km Lauf / Walking: €10 (early bird until 19.07.2026), €11 (until 23.08.2026), €12 (from 24.08.2026)
10km Hauptlauf: €12 (early bird until 19.07.2026), €13 (until 23.08.2026), €14 (from 24.08.2026)
On-site registration and bib pickup are available on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kausplatz, and on the event day at the Wendelinus School up to 30 minutes before each start.
Course Information (New for 2026):
- 350m Bambini Lauf: Circular course within the Wendelinus Schoolyard.
- 1000m Schülerlauf: A small loop starting and finishing at the Wendelinus Schoolyard.
- 2.5km, 5km, 10km: Based on a 2.5km large loop. The 2.5km Jugendlauf is 1 large loop, 5km is 2 large loops, and 10km is 4 large loops.
Classifications:
- Bambini: No classification.
- Students: According to DLO age groups.
- Running: DLO age group classification (5-year intervals from W30/M30).
- Walking: No age group classification.
- Team Classification (10km): Fastest 4 runners with the same team name.
- Bornheim City Championship (10km): For residents of Bornheim (PLZ 53332) who indicate this during registration.
- Top 3 finishers are based on gun time for awards; results lists show net times.
- Award for the team/club with the most participants.
