Race Details
Start and Finish: Stadthalle Merzig
Timing: meisterchip.de
Course Description: The route leads through the city park to the Saar river and along the towpath. Participants can decide during the run whether to complete 15 km or a half marathon. The 15 km route finishes in the city park, while the half marathon continues along the Saarleinpfad towards Fremersdorf to a turning point and then back to the city park.
Showers: Available at the Sportplatz Blättelbornstadion in the new changing rooms of the Spielvereinigung Merzig clubhouse (approx. 7 minutes walk from the stadium).
Awards Ceremonies:
- Bambinilauf: Immediately after the race.
- Schülerlauf: After age groups (male/female).
- Jedermann-Lauf (5 km): Top three adults and youths (male/female).
- Hauptlauf (15 km and Half Marathon): Overall top three (male/female) and age groups.
- Kreisfeuerwehrverbandsmeisterschaft: After the Jedermann-Lauf.
- Stadtmeisterschaft Halbmarathon: After the Hauptlauf awards.
Additional Services:
- Parking available directly at the Stadthalle.
- Information stand with route map and schedule.
- Wardrobe storage in the Stadthalle.
- Refreshments on the course every 5 km (isotonic drinks, water, cola, honey cakes, pretzels, bananas).
- Course marshals provided by the Red Cross, doctors, and marshals.
- Post-race refreshments in the finish area (drinks with and without alcohol, sausages, coffee, homemade cake).
