Run for the House - Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston 5K and Kids 1 Miler
The Run for the House is a family-friendly USATF-Certified competitive 5K and non-competitive 1 Miler. Registered participants receive a race shirt, medal, swag bag. After the run, join us at Sam Houston Park for the After Party. Take a selfie with Santa, create awesome crafts, play fun games, refuel with delicious food and drinks, and see if you won an award!

Founded in 1978, the mission of RMHC Greater Houston is to offer a home away from home providing care, compassion, and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions. The House provides a place to find rest and respite, activities, meals, and snacks for our families, at no cost. We serve children and families at four locations: Holcombe House - 70 Bedrooms, Texas Children's Hospital - 19 Bedrooms, Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital - 20 Bedrooms, MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital - 2 Bedrooms. In addition to our Houses, RMHC Greater Houston also has a CareMobile that goes to local communities to provide immunizations and well checks for school aged children.
5K and Kids 1 Miler | DECEMBER 6, 2025 | SAM HOUSTON PARK
USATF-certified 5K run/walk/roll. Competitive runners, fun runners and walkers, families with children are welcome! All registered participants will receive a finisher medal, event t-shirt, and other great SWAG generously donated by our sponsors. 100% of the proceeds benefit the children and families of RMHC Greater Houston. Up to $50,000 will be generously matched, dollar for dollar, by the Trafigura Foundation!
