Rowan Glen Run the Risk 10k

We are delighted that the Rowan Glen Run the Risk 10K road race, organised by Galloway Harriers will be returning and will be taking place at 10.00am on Sunday 27th September 2026.
PLEASE NOTE EARLIER START TIME
Online bookings will cost £10.00 and include;
- Chip timing
- First aid
- A well marshalled route
- Limited car parking and toilet facilities. PLEASE PARK AT THE HEALTH CENTRE ACROSS THE ROAD, DG8 6NR AS THERE IS A GOLF TOURNAMENT TAKING PLACE.
- Water provision at the end of the race
- Medal for all finishers
- Trophies awarded for first male and first female, also for first local male and female (DG8 postcode).
- Mainly tarmac, undulating course.
- No cut off time.

Closing date for online entries will be midnight Thursday 24th September 2026, or earlier if limit reached. There will be no refunds given once you enter, so please don’t take a place if you’re unsure about running on the day.
There may be entries available on the day chargeable at £10 but this cannot be guaranteed if we exceed capacity.
If the race is unable to go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse course conditions, which would impact on the safety of competitors, we will post notice of this on the Galloway Harriers Facebook page, the day before.
Runners should be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Please Note: Runners are respectfully requested not to wear headphones during the race.
Registration will be open in the clubhouse at the Newton Stewart Golf Club, from 9am on race day. Here you can collect your race number and timing chip, use the toilet facilities and leave your bag (at your own risk). Registration will close at 9:45am sharp.
Refreshments will be available to purchase from the Golf Club.
The start line will be at Newton Stewart Golf Club, which will be clearly marked on race day.
A pre-race briefing will take place at 9:55am to which all competitors must attend.
The race starts at 10.00am.
