About
Race The Night Towcester is a brand-new endurance running event coming to the iconic Towcester Racecourse in 2026. Set on the historic former horse racing track, this fast, closed-loop course is built for endurance, strategy and atmosphere.The challenge is simple: run as many laps as you can in 4 hours, between 6:30PM-10:30PM. How you do it is up to you. Race solo, pair up as a duo, or bring a team of 4, and take on one of the most exciting new endurance and relay races in Northamptonshire.
DUO OR TEAMS: This is a team race, so don’t hold back. We want bold team colours, matching kits, fancy dress - the lot. Turn endurance into entertainment and let your team spirit shine. Sports day didn’t end at school… it just got longer!
As daylight fades, the energy rises. Expect lights, music, live results, street food and a race village that feels more like a festival than a traditional running event. This is endurance racing reimagined...and it doesn't end at 10:30PM! Join us at the After-Party until 12:30AM!

Route information
Race The Night Towcester takes place on a 2.7km closed-loop course around the historic former horse racing track at Towcester Racecourse. It's all about distance over time.The route follows the original racing circuit. Expect undulating terrain with natural variations underfoot, a legacy of decades of horse racing. The course isn’t technical, but it isn’t billiard-table smooth either, making it a true endurance challenge that rewards strong pacing, focus, and smart footwear choice.
With wide paths, plenty of space to pass, and a fully closed course, it’s ideal for both solo endurance runners and relay teams chasing laps late into the evening.
You have 4 hours on the clock to complete as many 2.7km laps as possible. You can:
- Run continuously
- Take short breaks between laps
- Step off course to refuel and recover
- Switch runners if you’re racing as a duo or team
Winners in each category are crowned based purely on total laps completed.

Just a short drive from the M1, M40, and A5, the venue offers convenient access for guests travelling from London, Birmingham, and surrounding areas.
On race nights, please enter the Racecourse via the rear Heathencote entrance on Shutlanger Road, NN12 7LD if arriving by vehicle.
Event day logistics
The challenge is simple, complete as many laps of the racecourse as you can within the 4 hour timeframe. The clock starts at 6:30PM and ends at 10:30PM, so complete as many laps as you can!SOLO
Take on the full 4 hours yourself and see how far you can go. Perfect for experienced endurance runners and anyone looking for a serious personal challenge.
DUO
Race as a duo and split the effort. One runner on course at a time, swapping whenever you choose. Ideal for friends, training partners, or clubmates.
TEAM OF 4
Build a team, plan your strategy and chase laps together. This is a true relay format, with only one team member on the course at any one time, and you can run in any order. Expect tactics, fast changeovers and serious team energy.
