Race for Life Wakefield 10k
The event at Thornes Park in Wakefield takes place on Saturday 13 June 2026 and is organised by Cancer Research UK. Routes offered for participants include 3k, 5k and a 10k distance. The course starts and finishes on grass that can be uneven. The route combines surfaced paths, woodland paths and undulating grass areas and includes rolling hills, sloping downhills and uphill gradients. The 10k route is a double lap of the 5k course. The start and finish lines are located on the playing field near the children’s playground.
Facilities on site include toilets and refreshments. Dogs are allowed. There is no bag drop, no showers, no bike racks and the route is not suitable for pushchairs. The route has been assessed as not wheelchair accessible because of the terrain and elevations. Blue badge parking is available in the Athletics Stadium car park with a short walk across tarmac then grass. There is no designated event parking at the venue and town centre pay and display car parks are approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk away.
