Race for Life Pretty Muddy Wakefield 5k
The event is a 5 km obstacle course at Thornes Park, Wakefield, on grass, surfaced paths and woodland tracks. The start and finish are on grass that can be uneven. The course includes undulating areas, rolling hills, sloping downhills and uphill gradients. A course map is available but may be subject to change.
Participants must be 13 years of age or older; there are separate Pretty Muddy Kids events for younger children. Waves of runners start every 15 minutes to manage numbers on the course. The event has a minimum fundraising target of £50.
Meeting and site information note the start and finish are on the playing field near the children's playground. There is no designated event parking at the venue; town centre pay-and-display car parks are approximately a 10–15 minute walk away. Blue badge parking and volunteer parking are available in the Athletics Stadium car park with a short walk to the site. The nearest train station is Wakefield Westgate, roughly a 10–15 minute walk. The closest pedestrian entrance is on Horbury Road.
On-site facilities include toilets and refreshments. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not suitable for pushchairs. Sunflower wristbands and a QR code for British Sign Language stage content are provided for accessibility.
