POINT TO POINT BAY SWIM
Join us for a unique point-to-point 1.2-mile Bay Swim in Avalon, NJ. This event features a TIME TRIAL START format, where swimmers are seeded based on their estimated swim time, with the fastest swimmers entering the water first.
The swim course is part of the Cedar Island 5K Swim route, offering a safe and protected bay environment ideal for familiarizing yourself with open water swimming. It's designed to build confidence for future swimming events, feeling like an epic training group swim with friends!
Event Details:
- Swim Start: 10:00 AM
- Distance: 1.2 Miles
- Location: 23rd Street and Ocean Drive Avenue Public Dock, Avalon, NJ
- Check-in: 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM at the Avalon Yacht Club (704 7th Street). Note: No parking at AYC; shuttle service available.
- Giveaways: Custom event branded swim cap, chip timing, and a premium Live and Tell HOODIE. Optional long-sleeved tee for a $25 donation. Custom Finish Line towel included.
- Proceeds: 100% of proceeds and donations go to Step Into Swim - FREE learn how to swim programs.
- Cut-off time: 60 minutes to complete the swim and finish at the Avalon Yacht Club.
- Awards: Top 5 overall male and female finishers, masters, grandmasters, youngest, and oldest swimmer. No age group awards.
Important Information:
- Wetsuits are typically legal. Swim buoys are allowed.
- Shuttle service will be available from 8:15 AM to 9:30 AM, and post-swim from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, running every 15 minutes.
- Participants are advised to self-body mark their number on their left hand prior to arrival. Emergency contact information will be checked.
- Swimmers self-seed on the dock by expected finish times: Under 25 Minutes, 26-30 Minutes, 31-39, 40-45 Minutes, 45 plus Minutes.
- Be aware of conditions, bridge pilings, and other swimmers. Safety patrol will be present.
- Participation Cap: 175 swimmers. Sign up early to secure your preferred hoodie size.
This is Race #3 in the TKC Open Water Summer Swim Series: TRIPLE CROWN. Complete all three races (1.2 Mile Bay Swim, Cedar Island 5K Swim) to receive a Triple Crown Award. Overall Summer Swim Series Champions will also be crowned.
