The Piglione Trail offers an unforgettable experience with three incredible routes through the heart of the Apuan Alps, catering to all levels of trail runners.
Piglione Vertical (New for 2026)
Discover the first-ever Piglione Vertical on October 4, 2026! This challenging 6.5km uphill race with 930m of elevation gain starts from Piegaio-Trebbio, passes through Convalle, and ascends to the summit of Monte Piglione. It's a perfect prelude to the main Piglione Trail event and concludes with the famous Pumpkin Festival!
Race Distances and Details
- Ultra Piglione Trail: Approximately 56km with 3200m of elevation gain (ITRA 4 – UTMB QUALIFIER 50K). A semi-self-sufficiency race starting from San Rocco in Turrite, traversing 14 villages with stunning sea views, reaching Monte Prana and Monte Piglione, before returning to the finish line.
- Long Piglione Trail: Approximately 36km with 2000m of elevation gain (ITRA 2 – UTMB QUALIFIER 50K). This semi-self-sufficiency race follows the historic route, reaching Monte Piglione, descending into Val Pedogna through 7 villages, and returning to the finish line.
- Short Piglione Trail: Approximately 19km with 1100m of elevation gain (ITRA 1 - UTMB QUALIFIER 20K). A fast-paced race designed for those new to trail running or seeking a quick challenge, leading to the summit of Monte Piglione and then back to the finish.
