Petzl Tunnel Vision - Night and Dawn Runs
This unique event offers a pair of out-and-back 5-mile running races held on Thursday, 5th November and Friday, 6th November 2026, in Market Harborough. Participants will run through the 422m Oxendon Tunnel, which will feature mood lighting, but a headtorch or small handheld torch is required.
The tunnel surface has ruts and puddles, but the route is on hard-packed track suitable for road or trail shoes. Professional first aid will be available, along with volunteers on the course.
Entries
Entries are priced at £23 for a single race and £40 for both runs. The minimum age is 14 years. Entries close seven days before the event.
Registration & Parking
Pre-event registration and race pack collection is available on Wednesday, 4th November at Harborough Leisure Centre (LE16 9HF) between 6-8pm. Free parking is provided at the Leisure Centre.
Start Times & Location
- Night Run: 7:30 PM (Thursday, 5th November)
- Dawn Run: 6:30 AM (Friday, 6th November)
The start location is signposted from Northampton Road, off Scotland Road, behind the Protheroes garage.
Kit & Support
A head torch or small handheld torch is essential. Road or trail shoes are suitable for the hard-packed track.
Prizes & Treats
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers. All finishers receive a specially commissioned medal, with interlocking medals for those completing both runs. Post-run refreshments include hot brew and biscuits for the Night Run, and orange juice and a croissant for the Dawn Run.
Race Merchandise
Technical t-shirts (£18) and hoodies (£27) are available for pre-order up to three weeks before the event. No merchandise will be available on race day.
