Celebrate Independence Day with a 5 mile race! Lynchburg is known as the "Hill City"....but this course is flat, flat, flat. The start finish is located at the Blackwater Creek Natural Area Percival's Island in downtown Lynchburg and the course follows the Blackwater Creek Bikeway...a paved rails to trails path along the James River.
A bit longer than a 5k but without the effort of a 10k, 5 miles is considered by many the perfect distance. This is also the 9th race in the Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series.
- Registration: $30 (thru - June 30, 2026), $35 (July 1st - July 4, 2026)
- Packet Pickup: Friday (7/3) 12-6pm Riverside Runners; Saturday (7/4) RACE DAY 7-7:30am at Percival's Island Natural Area
- Awards: Top 3 Overall M/F, Master M/F, and Top 3 in each age group. All awards based on chip time.
