Pecatonica Labor Day 5K and Family Fun Run
Join us for the first annual Pecatonica Labor Day 5K and Family Fun Run, inspired by Pecatonica's Crooked River 5K. This race will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at the Pecatonica Public Library, proceeding to the Winnebago County Fairgrounds, following the Pecatonica River Bike Path, and returning to the library.
The 5K run/walk begins at 08:00, with an awards ceremony around 09:30. This event is hosted by the Pecatonica Economic Development Committee in conjunction with the Pecatonica Labor Day Event.
Pricing and Registration
Pre-registration for the 5K is $30.00. Special pricing is available for youth (0-17 years old) and participants 80 years and above. A discount for Rockford Road Runners applies. No discounts will be honored on race day, and the price will increase by $7.00.
Shirts and Medals
Shirts will be available from BAX-Ts in Pecatonica. To guarantee a shirt with race packet pick-up, registration must be completed before August 22, 2025. Shirts will not be available after this date.
Timing and Age Groups
Chip timing will be provided by Racing Expectations. Age groups (both male and female) include: 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
