Join the Flock for the return of the Onslow Community Outreach-Moore Buick GMC Turkey Trot 5K & Giblet 1-Miler! 🦃 The community has spoken, and we’re ready to ruffle some feathers with an even bigger and better event! This year, we’re spreading our wings to expand the field of runners and enhance your race-day experience with more fun, excitement, and tail-feather shaking moments. Whether you’re ready to strut your stuff in the in-person 5K, take a shorter waddle in the Giblet 1-Miler, or fly solo in the Virtual 5K, there’s something for every bird in the flock. 8:30 AM 5K Start .We ask that those who are walking or running with strollers and pets, line up in the back of the corral. This is a timed start and will not impact your race time.
8:40AM Giblet 1-Miler Start
9:30AM Awards Presentations - Overall, First place Male and Female - 5K ONLY medals will be awarded for first place only in designated Age Groups.

Can't join the turkey trot in person? No problem! Join us virtually and run, walk, or waddle your distance anytime, anyplace. How you cover the distance is up to you-- it's on the honor system with no proof of performance required. Race packets include a runner's bib and finisher medal and will be mailed to you by November 20th. Virtual participants can complete the distance anytime during the month of November. Sign up and be part of the fun from wherever you are!

- Finisher Medals: Every registered finisher of the 5K and 1-Miler will earn a shiny commemorative medal, a symbol of your dedication and achievement!
- Age Group Champions (5K Only): The fastest Male and Female in each age category will claim a $20 Fleet Feet Gift Certificate (Jacksonville location). Will you take the top spot? Age groups: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
- Overall 5K Champions: The fastest Male and Female overall will score a $100 Fleet Feet Gift Certificate (Jacksonville location) as the ultimate prize! Lace up, race hard, and take home the glory!

Gobble, gobble, gobble! Help Us Reach Our Goal of 200 Toys! We’re calling on all trotters, joggers, walkers, and strollers to bring a toy to the starting line! Let's make this Turkey Trot not just a race, but a heartwarming community celebration to benefit the Christmas Cheer program. Bring a New, Unwrapped Toy: From action figures to art supplies, every toy makes a difference! Race Day Drop-Off: Hand your toy to one of our cheerful elves at the Onslow Community Outreach information tent before you hit the trail. Share the joy and excitement on social media using the hashtag #TurkeyTrotToyDrive. Challenge your friends and family to join in and help us reach our goal of collecting 200 toys! Together, we can make this holiday season brighter for children in our community. FAQ's
- What if is bad weather? This is a rain or shine event. However, if weather conditions are deemed too dangerous to continue, the race will be cancelled. The race staff will make that call are soon as possible.
- Can I register on the day of the race? Yes, IF spaces are available.
- Are animals allowed on the course? Yes, Furry family members are welcome. Please note that all must must abide by the CIty Leash Law and be leashed at all times. Runners who have pets with them will start at the back of the race pack. The race is timed from the moment you cross the start line so this will not impact your race time.
- Are strollers permitted on the course? Strollers are permitted. Only registered runners with an official bib will receive finisher medal. Stollers will start at the back of the runners.
- Where does the revenues go? All proceeds generated will be used to support the Onslow Community Outreach Christmas Cheer program.
