Why This Event Matters
This event is deeply personal to me. My mother lives with Ataxia, a neurological condition that affects coordination, balance, and mobility. Watching someone you love navigate this disease changes your perspective on how important awareness, research, and community support truly are. What started as a small community run has grown into an annual event where people come together to support families affected by Ataxia and raise awareness for a condition many people have never heard of. Each step taken on race day represents hope — hope for greater awareness, support for caregivers, and progress toward a cure. Help us reach our goal of 100 participants in 2026. Race Day Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM | Race Day Registration
- 8:15 AM | 5K Run/Walk Begins
- 8:30 AM | 1 Mile Fun Run Begins
Early Bib Pickup
Friday, September 25, 2026, 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM. Participants are encouraged to pick up their bibs early to avoid race day lines.

After the race, participants are invited to enjoy light breakfast refreshments while hearing from guest speakers who will share valuable care insights, personal stories, and educational resources for individuals and families affected by Ataxia.
Fundraising Challenge
This year we are encouraging participants to go beyond the run by helping raise additional awareness and support for Ataxia. Participants are invited to create their own fundraising pages and share the cause with friends, family, and coworkers. Every dollar raised helps support awareness, education, and research for individuals and families affected by Ataxia.
🏆 Top Fundraiser Prize
A 2 Night / 3 Day Hotel Stay. Additional prizes will be awarded to our top supporters helping us reach our $10,000 fundraising goal. If you feel inspired to make an even greater impact, consider becoming a Team Captain and inviting others to join your team. Together we can expand the reach of this event and bring hope to those affected by Ataxia. Even small efforts make a difference. If each participant raised just $100, together we could fund important awareness and support programs for families living with Ataxia.
Finisher Medals
Custom finisher medals are guaranteed for the first 100 in-person 5K participants registered by September 4th. Virtual participants may receive a finisher medal with payment of shipping fees. Please note: 1 Mile Fun Run participants are not eligible for finisher medals.
Virtual Run Option
Can’t join us in Jacksonville? Participate from anywhere! The Virtual Run will take place between September 21 – September 25, 2026. Participants can run or walk at their own pace and location while still supporting the mission. Share your photos and results online to help raise awareness and inspire others to move for a cure.
Run in Honor of Someone
Many participants choose to run or walk in honor of someone they love who has been affected by Ataxia or another neurological condition. When you register, consider dedicating your run to someone special and sharing their story with our community. Together we move with purpose.
