Old Tom Backyard
Old Tom Backyard is a Backyard Ultra held on a farm in Manitoba. The 2026 Silver Ticket edition is scheduled for July 4, 2026. The 2026 event is reported as sold out with a waitlist available.
The race format requires runners to complete repeated laps called yards. Each lap measures 4.167 miles (6.71 km) and must be run in less than one hour. A new lap begins every hour and the event continues until only one runner remains. The final runner standing is the winner; other competitors receive a DNF.
Event infrastructure on the farm includes marked trails, a corral, lighting and an on-site tent village for camping. Live results are posted hourly during the event. A limited-time merchandise store was opened with pre-order options to secure colours and sizes, while a limited selection may be offered on race day.
Organizers announced additional prize money tied to breaking the Canadian Home Soil record of 68 yards. Published payouts include 10,000 USD for Last Runner Standing, 5,000 USD for Assist and 1,000 USD for a course record. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
