Welcome to the OBX GO FAR 2024 Fall Program! This non-profit organization offers a training program for elementary and middle school students in Dare County. The program is designed to encourage children to get active and participate in running events.
Program Details
The training will take place from September 23 to October 26, 2024, leading up to the Dare to Scare 5K & Fun Run in Manteo on October 26. Participants will train for both the 5K and Fun Run over a period of five weeks.
Registration and Costs
The registration fee is $48, which covers gear costs, including a GO FAR T-shirt, medal, and other swag for each participant. Scholarships are available for families in need.
Practice Locations
Practices will be held at various locations, including local elementary and middle schools. Children are encouraged to bring water bottles and wear proper running shoes.
Final Race
The final race will be held at the Dare to Scare 5K & Fun Run, and registration for this event is included in the GO FAR program. Families wishing to run alongside their children must register separately for the race.
