Oak Mountain Ultra Relay
The Original 24 Hour Triathlon. Organized by: Mammoth Endurance | Built for the Pursuit, Not Finish Lines.
The goal of this event is to log as many complete triathlons, duathlons, or single laps (for run, swim or bike only events) in the allotted time. You may choose to race as a solo athlete or as a relay team. Choose from either a 12 hour or 24 hour race. You and or your team will be assigned a "pit area" inside the Village where you setup camp for the duration of the event. This is where you sleep, eat, store your gear, etc.. - your home away from home.
You are not required to change disciplines in between each leg of the event. For example, you may bike 10 laps in a row, then swim 5 and then run 8. You can complete laps of any discipline in any order. Teams are not required to change athletes after each leg. For example, team member A can run 5 loops in a row, then bike 3 before handing off to team member B. However, teams may only have one athlete circulating the course at a time and must switch between team members inside the transition area.
Race Disciplines:
- Triathlon
- Duathlon

General Course Information:
Swim: The swim takes place in a beautiful section of Oak Mountain State Park. The course is a .25 mile loop. The water temp is around 68 - 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Water depths are no greater than 8 to 9 feet.
Bike: The bike segment is 10.50 miles long and boasts smooth roads inside the park with wide shoulders. The route curves through the park surrounded by towering pines. This is an out and back route with climbs and fun descents. It is HIGHLY recommended you practice some night riding before making your way to the event.
Run: The 2 mile run course follows a unique route. It starts with a short section of smooth, easy trail along the shore of the lake. After the turnaround, you'll run through the pit area and back onto paved roads along the edge of the water. There is small elevation gain, but it is considered a fast run course.
