In 2026, the nation will celebrate the Route 66 Centennial, marking the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road serving the traveling public! Route 66 was one of the first continuous stretches of paved highway in the United States and served as a primary route for westward migrants. RunFit is hosting the Mother Road Half Marathon on Sunday, March 1, 2026, to kick off this year-long celebration. The event features a variety of races: a 6.6-mile run, a 6.6K run or walk, a 1-mile walk, and a .6 Kids K. Join us for this special day as we celebrate the Mother Road with a run or walk along the iconic Route 66! Whether you prefer to run or walk, this event is for everyone! A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Albuquerque Little Theatre (ALT).
