Nibelungen-Triathlon 2026

The 40th Nibelungen-Triathlon will be held in Xanten on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Distances:

• Olympic Distance: 1.5 km swimming / 42 km cycling / 10 km running
• Draxi Distance: 0.5 km swimming / 17 km cycling / 5 km running
• Staffel-Olympisch (Olympic Relay): 1.5 km swimming / 42 km cycling / 10 km running
• Staffel-Draxi (Draxi Relay): 0.5 km swimming / 17 km cycling / 5 km running

Registration:

Online registration is mandatory. No late or transfer registrations accepted. Refund policy applies until July 31, 2026, with a 5,- Euro processing fee. No refunds after August 1, 2026. T-shirts can be picked up at the info booth if not worn.

Start/Finish:

Strandbad im Freizeitzentrum Xanten/Wardt

Eligibility:

• Olympic Distance: Ages 2008 and older. Startpass or day license required (+ € 21,- association fee).
• Draxi Distance: Ages 2010 and older. Startpass or club membership not required.

Timing:

ChampionChip required. Rental chips available for € 3,- plus € 25,- deposit.

Race Course Details:

• Swimming: 1500 m (Olympic) or 500 m (Draxi) loop in the Xanten lake.
• Cycling: Flat, closed-course, point-to-point. Olympic: 42 km (5 laps). Draxi: 17 km (2 laps). Helmet required, no drafting.
• Running: Flat, spectator-friendly loop course. Olympic: 10 km (2 laps). Draxi: 5 km (1 lap).

Relay Competitions:

Minimum 2 participants per team. Age requirements vary by discipline and relay type.

Meeting:

Mandatory race briefing 5 minutes before each start in the start area.

Registration Fees (incl. association fee):

Note: In case of cancellation due to official measures (e.g., pandemic), start fees will be refunded, with a € 5,- deduction to cover incurred costs.
