Newtown 5K
The 44th Annual Newtown 5K is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, starting at 8:30 am in Newtown, OH. This event is organized by Turpin Cross Country. Participants are encouraged to bring a canned-good or non-perishable item to help stock the food pantry at IPM (Inter-Parish Ministries).
Location: Moundview Park, 3130 Newtown Road, Newtown, OH.
Course: 3.1 miles over residential streets. The course is relatively flat with splits at every mile. First aid and water will be available on the course. The race begins and ends at Moundview Park.
Divisions:
- Runners: Male and female age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
- Walkers: Male and female age groups: 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over. Walkers will have a separate start and must walk the entire distance.
Competitions:
- Corporate Team Competition: Separate award for the top 3 finishers based on total team time. A sponsorship of $200 covers up to 7 runners. Contact Marshall Remmele at [email protected] for instructions.
- School Team Competition: Top 5 finishers score based on total team time. Contact Marshall Remmele at [email protected] for instructions.
Awards: Special awards for overall male and female runner and walker, top Newtown male and female runner and walker. Age group awards, Corporate team, School Team, and top Newtown Residents awards will be given. Awards Ceremony will be held after the race.
Free Kids Fun Run: Free kids fun runs will be held after the 5k. No advanced signup necessary. Kids 5 and under will race across the field, elementary kids will race approximately 1000m around the park.
Results: Race results will be posted online at www.Runningtime.net following the race.
Chip Timing: The race will be chip timed with Ipico shoe tags. Attach the shoe tag to your shoe to receive a time. Tags will be distributed and collected on race day.
Registration:
- Pre-Registration Cost: $25 for individuals through Sunday, August 2, 2026.
- Late/Race Day Registration Cost: $30 from Monday, August 3rd through race day, August 8th.
- T-Shirts: Available for $10 while supplies last.
- Note: ALL registrations for 2026 will be done online, including race day. There is no on-site or mail-in registration.
Packet Pickup:
- Early Check-in and Packet Pickup: Friday, August 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moundview Park.
- Race-Day Check-in: Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 7:00 am - 8:15 am at Moundview Park.
Directions: Moundview Park, 45244. Refer to provided directions via Route 50, Route 32, or Beechmont/Route 125.
Parking: Available in the field at the park. The road leading to the park will be closed at 8:15 a.m. Parking is also available at St. John Fisher Church.
Donations: Canned goods will be collected for Inter Parish Ministries in Newtown.
