Nairn Half Marathon 2026
The Nairn Highland Games Half Marathon takes place on 15 August 2026 as part of the Nairn Highland Games. The event is organised by Nairn Road Runners and sponsored by Wright Johnston & Mackenzie. The race starts and finishes within the main games arena where runners may finish to the sound of the massed pipes and drums.
The route runs alongside the beach and harbour and continues into open countryside before returning to the games arena. The course is described as flat. There are four water stops on the course and ACTIVE ROOT energy drink will be available at the water stations.
Registration takes place at the Registration Tent near the Cricket Pavilion on The Links, Nairn, and closes promptly at 12:00 pm on race day. Online entry closes at midnight on 14 August 2026. The event holds a SAL permit. A race time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes applies after which course support services will be withdrawn unless the limit is altered for weather reasons. Over ear and in ear headphones are not permitted under Scottish Athletic rules; bone conduction headphones may be used at the runner's own risk.
Changing facilities are available in the games changing tents but there is no secure property area and no showering facilities.
