MTC Black Anise - Ultra Running
The MTC Black Anise is a new for 2029, single-day ultra of 38.1 miles. The route runs from Lancaster to Wigan and follows the same course used by the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distances. The race also serves as Day 3 of the MTC ALBION thirteen day end to end of England.
Entry is limited to 40 competitors. The event is cup-free and competitors must bring a reusable cup. All finishers receive a bespoke Black Anise medal; male and female champions will also receive trophies.
Organisers require a mandatory kit list and provide a tracking device with an SOS function. Maps and GPX files are provided by email about four weeks before the race.
The race enforces a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; preset cut-off points are set along the route. Checkpoints provide food. Entry fees are published with a race package option that includes a shirt and hi‑viz jacket for an additional cost.
