The 49th Annual Mount Madonna Challenge
The Mt. Madonna Challenge began in 1975 and is one of the original trail races that began the evolution of trail running. The event is now managed by Jose Cruz, with all proceeds benefiting the Mt. Madonna Scholarship for local high school runners to attend the Max King Trail Running Camp.
Courses:
- 5K: 8:30 AM Start, 843 Feet of elevation gain
- 10K: 8:30 AM Start, 1,532 Feet of elevation gain
- Half Marathon: 8:00 AM Start, 2,828 Feet of elevation gain
Important Notes:
- Registration closes: Mon, Aug 3 @ 11:59PM PT. No race day registration.
- Cupless Race: Hydrapak SpeedCups will be provided.
- Half Marathon Cut-Off Time: 9:45 AM at the second aid station (mile 5).
- Parking: Limited parking at Sprig Lake. Shuttle available from Fortino Winery starting at 6:30 AM.
- Packet Pickup: Pre-Race Day at High & Mighty Pizza Joint (7661 Monterey Rd, Gilroy, CA 95020) on Friday 5-7:30 PM. Race Day pickup at the race location.
- Chip Timing by SVE Timing.
- No Refunds. All proceeds benefit youth scholarships.
