Morecambe Half Marathon & 5k
The event takes place in Morecambe on 2nd May 2027 and is organised as part of the Lancaster Race Series. Races start and finish near Bare Methodist Church Hall on St Margaret's Road LA4 6EF and mainly follow the promenade, offering views across the bay to the Lake District. The half marathon route is mostly flat along the promenade but includes a hill and an undulating section between miles 8 and 12. The event holds a UKA licence: #31360.
Two race distances are offered:
- 5k
- Half marathon
All finishers receive a medal; half marathon finishers also receive a T-shirt. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers. There is a prize for the first veteran in each category depending on entries. Recorded course best times are noted for each distance: 5k male 15:54 (2025), 5k female 17:20 (2024); half marathon male 1:14:57 (2024), half marathon female 1:33:07 (2025).
Online entry fees vary by affiliation: 5k from £8 to £12, half marathon from £25 to £33 (some portals may add a small fee). Entries on the day are cash only with higher on-the-day fees.
