Celebrate the Zodiac Year of the Fire Horse! The Year of the Fire Horse symbolizes movement, intensity, and bold energy — the perfect inspiration to get moving in a true “horse environment” at the Mile High Rescue Sixth Annual 5K! Bring your family and enjoy a fun morning of running, walking, or trotting alongside beautiful horses and friendly farm animals, all while supporting a meaningful cause.

- Time: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The course will be fully marked, allowing participants to start in waves and enjoy the trail safely at their own pace (run at your leisure within this window).
Location: Mile High Rescue, 6351 S. Peoria Street Englewood, CO
All race registrants will receive:
- A 5K or 1‑mile course map
- Interactive run tracking through the RaceJoy® app
- An event T‑shirt
Top male and female runners in the 5K category will receive special prizes.
Virtual Options
Can’t make it onsite? No problem! You can still participate virtually in the 5K or 1‑mile event through the RaceJoy® app.
Registration Fees:
- Adults (19+): $35
- Youth (11–18): $25
- Kids (10 & under): Free
- New for 2026 - 4‑person or more group: $100 total/or $25 per person (for more than 4 people). Group Run Category! Bring your friends, dress in your best cowboy running gear, and enjoy discounted pricing!
Summer Kick Off Party:
Afterwards all running participants can get in for free to the Summer Kick Off party featuring:
- Lawn Games
- Hobby Horse Races
- Horse Grooming Demonstrations
- Face Painting
- Music
- Adult and Youth Drinks - Kona Ice will be onsite from 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m.
- Food Trucks (participants purchase from trucks directly)
The Summer party only (no race entry) is $15 per kid and $5 per adult. Kids under 4 free.
*Pony rides will be available at the Summer Party for a separate fee.
Why We Run?
All proceeds directly support Mile High Rescue’s mission to save horses from abusive or neglectful situations and place them in loving, permanent homes. The organization also provides ongoing support to horse owners to ensure successful placements for both horse and human. Mile High Rescue is a non for profit 501c3 organization.
