Midzomer Sahara Trail & Walk
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the first edition of the Midzomer Sahara Trail & Walk will take place in the unique Sahara landscape of Lommel, the most beautiful gateway to National Park Bosland.
Trail runners will head into nature in the afternoon, following trails past some of Lommel's most beautiful attractions. The start and finish are at the House of Nature, the event's vibrant heart. From there, the routes lead through the impressive Lommelse Sahara, towards De Reus van Bosland, the iconic observation tower rewarding participants with a unique panoramic view over the vast nature. Afterwards, the route heads towards the finish with a passage along De Vossemeren.
There is something for everyone with five distances: 6 km, 10 km, 16 km, 20 km, or 25 kilometers. Will you take on the challenge?
This year, a unique technical t-shirt has been made for all walks in the Limburg Runs. You can add it via the registration form. A unique medal for every participant and a delicious drink are also included!
Program Midzomer Sahara Trail 20/06:
- From 12:15 PM: pick up start numbers
- 1:15 PM: start 25 km trail run
- 1:30 PM: start 20 km trail run
- 2:00 PM: start 16 km trail run
- 2:15 PM: start 10 km trail run
- 2:30 PM: start 6 km Family trail run
- 4:30 PM: finish limit for all runners

Podium
There will be podiums for men and women per distance. Official timing is provided, and results are based on 3 different age categories (-35, 35-50, 50+). Nature prizes will be awarded to the first 3 men/women per distance and age category.
