Merced Paws on Patrol Fun Run
The Merced Police Department K9 Association invites you, your family, and your friends (2 and 4-legged!) to the first annual Paws on Patrol Fun Run at Lake Yosemite on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The goal of Paws on Patrol is to bring our community together in support of canine programs that promote public safety, education, service, wellness, and compassionate care for working and service dogs throughout our region.
Runners and walkers of all levels can register to compete in the 1Mile, 5K, or 10K. Run or walk by yourself or in the company of your dog. This is a family and dog-friendly event! Both you and your pets will enjoy the scenic course at Lake Yosemite.
Awards:
- CUSTOM MEDALS for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place males & females in the following 5K/10K Age-Groups: (10 & under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, & 60+).
- CUSTOM MEDALS to 1st and 2nd place males and females in the 1 Mile event.
- Special FINISHER'S MEDALS to all non-Age-Group winners.
- The first 100 registered participants (WITH A DOG) receive a CUSTOM DOG TAG!
Event Goals:
- To raise financial support for Merced Police Department K9 Association nonprofit program.
- To increase public awareness about the important role canine teams play in public safety, service, and community engagement.
- To strengthen partnerships between local law enforcement, first responders, schools, businesses, veterans, and community organizations.
- To provide a safe, fun, and educational annual event for families, animal lovers, and K9 supporters throughout Merced.
- To inspire youth involvement, volunteerism, and community engagement through positive canine-centered activities and demonstrations.
- To establish “Paws on Patrol” as a signature annual community tradition that celebrates teamwork, service.
