Meerathon - Der Meeraner Volkslauf
The 8th MEERATHON will take place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in the Meeraner Wilhelm-Wunderlich-Park. Participants can experience their big moment on five different track lengths: in the company or club run, the kids' or juniors' run, and the everyone's run, athletes compete for victory.
Everyone can participate, in a team for their own company or sports club, school class, kindergarten, or for private enjoyment. The partially challenging cross-country terrain with an ascent through the forest and descent over a meadow is a challenge even for experienced runners!
Start and finish will again be in the Wilhelm-Wunderlich-Park at the festival grounds this year.
A weekly running group will always start in the week before in the Wilhelm-Wunderlich-Park. Andreas Hahn from Intersport Gü-Sport will train with interested runners every Wednesday at 6:30 PM on the original course. The meeting point is at the Parkhotel Meerane.
The Meerathon hit, specially composed by students of IOM for the Parkfestlauf, will accompany us again this year.
The city of Meerane acts as the organizer of this running event, with Intersport Gü-Sport brought on board as the organizer. A big thank you goes out in advance to the Meerathon family and the sponsors. The organizing team is pleased that we can offer free participation to all children and young people up to 17 years of age again this year - thank you very much for that!
CALL TO ALL KINDERGARTENS AND SCHOOLS! Form a team in your kindergarten or school class with as many participants as possible (min. 5 participants) and you will be included in the ranking. 1 kindergarten, 1 primary school class, and 1 secondary school or grammar school class with the most runners can win. For the kindergarten or class that brings the most runners to the start, there are 100 euros each for the class fund. It's worth participating!
Note: Registration only by class, not by school. Special registration forms for kindergartens and school classes will be available online from April 1, 2026, and can be returned by fax or mail. Donated by Stadtwerke Meerane.
