About the race
The Marburger Nachtmarathon will take place in Marburg on Friday 3 July 2026. You can run between 21 and 42 kilometers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
For many years, the Ultra Sport Club Marburg has offered runners the opportunity to run through the Middle Hessian city and along the Lahn into the night in the summer. The Nachtmarathon has since developed into the largest running event in the region. If the classic distance is (still) too long for you, you can also tackle half the distance. There is also a relay marathon, in which up to four participants each complete sections of about ten kilometers. The start for everyone is atmospheric at 7 p.m. on the historic market square.
Registration and the finish line are located at the university stadium (Jahnstraße), about one kilometer away. The flat and record-eligible circuit offers ideal conditions for both beginners and ambitious runners who want to achieve their best times.
A large loop is run, initially through the picturesque old town, then through the city, and from kilometer seven exclusively on bike paths along the Lahn. Mostly with the silhouette of the city with the Landgrafenschloss and the Gothic Elisabethkirche in front of your eyes, you run into the night.
For all participants, regardless of the competition, there is a high-quality medal, a real collector's item that adorns a different prominent Marburg building every year.
