Llangunnor 5k is a mixture of uphill, downhill and flat course runs with pleasant views of the Towy Valley and Carmarthen. This event is open to participants 12+ years old and is a fun event for novices and experienced runners alike. Whether you walk, jog or run, get involved in this challenge and take home a medal to celebrate your victory!

Race start: 10am
Registration opens: 9am
Registration Closes: 9.45am
Event cost: £10 per person
ARC or UK/Welsh Affiliated Runners: £8 per person - please select an ARC ticket and provide your membership number or club name booking. Any ARC places booked without a membership number will be cancelled.
The 5K race is for ages 12 years plus. 12-15 year olds must be supervised by an adult.
This is a small race and has limited numbers in order to maintain safety.

Any remaining proceeds are then put towards the cost of the family fun day and the children’s Christmas event run each year by community volunteers.

Race Start Llangunnor Park, Carmarthen SA31 2LE
The race starts and finishes in Llangunnor park and is run mainly on pavements. Please be aware of traffic when crossing roads.
The course is well sign posted with marshals.
On The Day
Registration opens at 9am and closes at 9:45am.
No parking is available in the park itself but is available locally at Stephens Way Retail Park, outside Llangunnor School or nearby on street parking. Car sharing encouraged!
Please be respectful of the local residents when parking nearby and do not block roads or driveways.
Every finisher will receive a 'Finisher's medal' and there will be prizes for 1st + 2nd Male and 1st + 2nd Female.
There will be a small tent to leave your belongings at your own risk.

The course is run on pavements with some road crossings and will be signposted and marshalled throughout.
Note this course honours the landscape of Llangunnor - yes, this means uphill and downhill with fantastic views!
Health and Safety
St John’s Ambulance will be in attendance to support the wellbeing of race participants but please note, participants are responsible for their own safety at all times.
By entering you declare that you will abide by the rules of UK Athletics.
By entering participants accept that the organisers will not be responsible for any loss, damage, action claim, costs or expenses which might arise in consequence of participation in this event, however caused.
Terms and Conditions
Llangunnor Community Council reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the run in the event of an emergency (defined below) and shall not be obliged to offer a refund.
For the purposes of these terms and conditions, an “emergency” means any event beyond the control of Llangunnor Community Council including but not limited to inclement weather, earthquake, flood, acts of terrorism, civil war, nuclear, chemical or biological contamination, any law or action taken by a government or public authority, epidemic or pandemic, fire, threatened or actual strike, labour difficulty or work stoppage, insurrection, war, public disaster, or unavoidable casualty.
Llangunnor Community Council reserves the right to remove participants from the run if such action is considered necessary for safety reasons or the proper enjoyment of the Event by other participants or for any other reasonable reason.
